Yes, we need to stand up for ourselves. I have gone to small claims court and have 2 wins, 1 loss in trying to equalize financial bullying. I'm glad you had a fixed place to write, and they followed up, and maybe you taught that guard about the limits of his "power." In some of my confrontations with hypocrites and corrupted power trips, I was working in large institutions and people moved around so much and situations were so complex that it was hard to get a point across if someone messed with you - what it came down to in those situations was who had the bigger "team" of supporters. I have seen a very diligent and authentic executive denigrated by one stinging comment from one of the "influencers" and that was the beginning of his two-month spiral into the dog house and then he just disappeared ......... the day after the bad comment someone said to me "well, don't hitch your wagon to that guy." It all started there and moved quickly and the more I tried to counter the negatives, the worse it became fo me. So that's one of my tales of injustice. We have to stand up everyday. The power of the pen (or keyboard) gives our voices the amplification needed to get the story out into the world. That's all we need: a chance to tell the story and let the chips fall where they may.
