This piece was lyrical and painful, childlike yet very, very wise. I was recently in Delhi as I befriended a woman there and while her story was not quite so horrific, it was very difficult being an unmarried woman in her 30s. India is a massively beautiful, complex place filled with contradictions I can only begin to fathom. You tell the slice of life with great compassion and restraint.
