There are many exercises for actors where they are asked to tell a difficult personal truth, or a meaningful story about themselves, in the simplest, most authentic way possible. I have listened to people who have been left at the altar, watched false tears summoned by actors who had "on demand" skills, and struggled being authentic in my own story-telling. The space needs to be created by the teacher or facilitator with great care. It seemed to me you got to a very deep place with this story. When you say you'd like to stand on stage and be someone else, maybe you found, like I often did, that in truly embodying "someone else" I became myself in the most profound way. Acting is a complex psychological activity that is often counter-intuitive.
