So I share much of your sentiment, but in writing it something shifted and I got to that place where I accepted it all, and felt grateful -- easy to do from my comfortable perch in Northern California. And no, I wouldn't have thought to take the kids there, but my younger daughter hit Chennai (formerly Madras) in her globe-trotting gap year and loved it.
