Thanks for all the great questions and enthusiasm, Joanna. Currently I'm a freelance writer, trying to move from self-publishing to a bigger platform. I left San Francisco 5 years ago, have 3 acres in the foothills an hour from Sacramento. For most of my adult life I was the Principal or Director of public arts high schools where all the gifted and talented artistic kids go. That was a 24/7 job with thousands of people in my life every day - wonderful, but now I appreciate solitude and reflection. My novel about the experience is on Amazon, Everybody Under the Bus. It has some adult passages, not graphic but perhaps shocking, and the incidents are all true with details changed.
Your questions about the military and synaesthesia - Part II of the memoir is in the works as we write and there were some unique experiences in the military I will describe.
I too had a strong reaction to Chemistry as the use of math in chemical equations rrattled my brain, it was so different. A few numbers changed color for me in Chem, that was a weird experience. I love scientific theory, especially Quantum Physics and all the deep thoughts that go with that.
I'm going to check out your work on Medium and comment. Thanks again for taking the time. And by the way, my brother attended UCLA.
