I was glad to see it was Yael writing about sacred manhood, here and in her most recent piece. She comes from a caring space, defines the situation clearly and offers insight and humanity. Peter stands as a great example of true masculinity - decisive without aggression, defending without being defensive, self-interested without being selfish. These things begin to get at that core essence of what it is to be an evolved man: some of those tough-guy qualities have a role, but not in the knee-jerk way we often see them play out. Vulnerability can be panicked or authentic. Consistency adds to that foundation: a man can bend, be flexible and creative, but he stands in a place that counts for something, and you can dependably find him there.
