Faithe: Thank God you're out there giving this type of thinking a place to live. I support Neal deGrasse Tyson and took his class on Master Class - a great thinker and teacher. He's a little too strident sometimes, and has a bit too much faith in academic orthodoxy and objectivity and he misses the point about public interaction and understanding of science. "Experts" rarely honor the thinking of those outside their field. But I also think Terrence Howard and others overreacted to Tyson's critique - pretty standard if you ask me and not hard to take it in stride and move on. Glad to see the debate among black scholars and Terrence Howard is a major intellect; many of his ideas are being discussed in other places, so I hope he gets his due.
